San Diego on Fire

It's been so scary, but we're safe. We woke up yesterday morning to learn that the couple fires from the day before had quickly spread and were heading for our community. Evacuation warnings were coming left and right. Within a hour my parents, sister, niece, and grandma were at our apartment and we were planning what to do next. We finished packing and got out of there, heading for the coast. So here we are in 3 rooms at the hotel-6 adults, 1 baby, 3 cats, and a bird. Derek and my dad are up in the RB/Poway area gathering a few supplies and checking on the houses. So far so good, but they said the air quality is horribly worse (I can't imagine worse than yesterday) and with the chance of winds shifting, we will be staying at least another night in the hotel. Hope everyone is safe, and we'll update again later.
